GR Solaris Caribe

Although the hotel itself isn’t the most luxurious, we chose it for the beach and it was beautiful. I do wish there had been more umbrellas available for shade, since those filled up quickly. The food was decent, though it became repetitive. The entertainment was enjoyable, especially the special Dia de Los Muertos dinner and show on the beach. Our rooms were clean, and it was nice that we could use the amenities of the other GR Solaris hotel next door. We wanted to take time to appreciate Adrian at the front desk for providing excellent service. He was always attentive and quick to assist with anything we needed, such as extra bottled water. Overall we had an enjoyable stay.

We were here for the 3rd time and it never disappoints for the service we received. Especially the wait staff in the morning breakfast buffet and at the thatch roof restaurant. Adrian and Alfredo Jiminez were always very good waiters and remembered us each and every time we went for breakfast or lunch and always remembered how many in our group as well as always bringing our drinks once we sat down. Their service is exceptional and deserve recognition for that.

It was an amazing experience here at GR Solaris Caribe as my first time being in Cancun. The resort was beautiful and the people were so nice. I felt like I got what I paid for in terms of what they offer. I do wanna mention a few people that made it even top notch through their service. Robert was great as our server, he made sure we ate well and took care of us during our dinner paying attention to details. Manager Carlos was very friendly. Sergio the bartender had great mixologies and definitely ENERGY! I loved it! The chef at Tavo, Nathan, gave me the best meal I’ve had from the resort and the hostess Jomira for letting us in when we said we weren’t satisfied with the other place. Lastly, our flight going back was at 3am and Javier made sure we get our coffees in and served us well before leaving even if we came at 2:50 he made sure we were served. Only one thing that I didn’t like was the sales representative for becoming a member in the resort, I said I needed some time to think he didn’t seem to like that. Also I wanted a king bed since we’re a couple but we got a 2 bed. I also liked that I had access to the other resort and have the option for serene moments in ours. The amenities were enough for me. Thank you so much everyone! I’m looking forward to coming back!

We stayed at Caribe and at first thought we made a mistake not booking Cancun, but actually both hotels are connected and share activities. In the end, Caribe felt much better – authentic, beautiful buildings (like Santorini), and a very warm welcome. The food overall was very good with lots of variety( especially for breakfast ). Best restaurant for us was Bogavante – amazing seafood! Marcopolo we wouldn’t recommend though. Drinks at the lobby bar were great. Rooms were cleaned every day without even asking, which was a big plus. Staff was excellent – special thanks to Adrián, Maxim and Barraza for their friendliness. The hotel is more family/couple-oriented, but they also have a small club for young people. The lagoon with free kayaks and paddle boards (10 am–4 pm) was a great surprise. Overall, a lovely stay with just a few small improvements needed in some restaurants.

TL;DR : The facility is great. The food is not good at all. Mixed feelings about service being a non-Solaris member. As another reviewer said, it was more like 3.5 star stay for me. This hotel is very much for elderly white people (mostly with Solaris Club membership) so if you fit in that demographic, it’ll be a wonderful stay. It reminded me of the movie Snowpiercer. Lots of grandmas and grandpas with limited mobility staying here. You can tell they’ve come here many times before and lots of reunions happening too. There are some good things coming with that tho. The ramps were everywhere so it was so easy to move around with a suitcase. The property is not too big so it was easy to navigate overall compared to other huge all-inclusive resorts. It was quiet and no one was super drunk. The staff speaks English impressively well. You can tell the hotel has been remodeled recently and it’s lovely. The room design is actually cute with brand-new outlets. They even have a usb-c outlet! All the part of the hotel was clean. The hot water got too hot time to time but it was never cold. The courtyard with chic lights and chairs. The restaurants were well air-conditioned unless it was intentionally semi-outdoor. I really liked the property itself. However the food was the worst I’ve ever had compared to any other all-inclusive resorts. See, I’m not a picky traveller as I don’t have high expectations from all-you-can-eat places generally but even so most food was lacking flavor. I truly think it’s because of their targeting demographic. I’m also quite sure they just reheat pre-made food from the kitchen as the food came out in 10mins or so when I was dining in one of the a la carte restaurants lol. The food texture was mushy… Only soups were good. The workers work hard and very courteous but you can tell they are really busy focusing on their Solaris club members. Even if you wake up early to grab a beach chair by the pool, there was none available as they reserve so many for premium members. Both bracelets and towels are in different colors to make sure the staff can tell who’s the club members. No umbrellas on the beach as well unless you are a member. Well, it was my first time here and I think I will come back without all-inclusive benefits if that’s possible. It’ll be a good hotel when you plan to go out for excursions.

We have stayed at the hotel for 10 days. Overall, really good experience. We are a couple in early 40’s and we were so excited to stay in adults only resort. I will start with the negative thing first, and pretty much the only thing I have a complaint about. Adjoining rooms; horrible!!! We could hear EVERYTHING from the room next door. And I mean EVERYTHING (LoL). I know people like to have fun on vacation but one night we didn’t sleep at all because the couple next door decided to have a performance for hours (not funny after a while). I would suggest closing those doors completely and making sure that all the guests are having privacy. Food; overall good. Pretty decent selection and quantities. We were not lacking in anything. A la cart restaurants; we were able to book 5 dinners with no issues whatsoever. Italian one being our favourite (booked twice). Pool; on the smaller side but perfect for people just looking to chill. Service; THE BEST!! Everyone was absolutely amazing and friendly. 5 stars to the staff (reception, bartenders, servers, cleaning crew). We would definitely come back (if the fix the door situation LoL)

Nice hotel. Check in was very easy, you get a nice bracelet that has a chip in it. The resort is kept very clean and we always saw someone sweeping or tending to something. They were even keeping up with the painting on the building. The Caribe was recently updated and the rooms were very nice, clean, and everything was great except for the wifi in the room was really bad. The fridge was always stocked with water and beers. The cleaning staff were always great handing out extra water bottles. Pool: There is only one pool on the Caribe side and it's complimented by two large hot tubs. I believe the pool/hot tubs are closed after 6pm, not sure if that's normal or not... They were always clean, and quiet during the day. Unfortunately there is some strange system where you have to get down to claim your lounge chairs early in the morning or they will literally all be taken up. There were even chairs that were claimed that no one ever used which the resort should really do something about. Beach: The beach is great, we never didnt have an option for a lounge chair. It was all red flagged on our side of the beach but most of the beach was during our visit. There is a tractor in the morning that comes to adjust the washed up sea weed. Water was nice and warm. Food: This is where the resort falls short, and I'll include the Royal Solaris as you have access to both with the Caribe, and the Caribe doesn't have many options. The best we had was Bogavante, and this you can also have an A la Carte lunch at too. We ate also at the Italian and French restaurant ( Marco Polo) they were very underwhelming. I wont say the food was bad, but it certainly looked better than it tasted. They were very skimpy on ingredients. For instance a seafood bisque had like four muscles and two shrimp... A shrimp cocktail had like two cut up shrimp in it. Don't expect fine dining. Breakfast at Cafe Solaris was however very good and they put out a large assortment of local and western fare complimented by a large cheese and cold cuts board. We could never get into the Asian restaurant Bars: They're good! We never had to wait too long for a drink, they were always fresh made. Caribe had a speak easy kind of bar called MVP, and another one that's not on their site yet close to that that's open some nights, and even had live music at. Would consider going back if the price were better than we paid.

Stay on the adult only part of this Hotel and you will have fantastic vacation. I booked sea facing luxary twin room....they are great, but offer no balcony - but windows can be open (sea with its waves can be loud). Restaurants are cold Air conditioned, therefore I only went to open seafacing fish restaurant....day and night. Food was exceptionally super and stuff very friendly! Cold airconditioned breakfast room...but choises are amazing and tasty. Tipp them. Hotel stuff: Adrian at the reception is the best and most friendly guy in the Hotel/world. He really deserve the extra tipp. Nearby, there are no other restaurants in walking distance. You need to use taxi or inDrive (Uber like)...or stay at the cold Hotel restaurants (which I personally not liked, except the open seafacing restaurant)...although the Italien Restaurant food for dinner (once) is good. Hotel ist good located from airport and If you want to explore the south...for north, f.ex isla mujeres or Holbox, it is a bit too far in the south and you need a cub. I will book this hotel again For a few nights. For sure.
